Andoni Iraola offers injury update on Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo
Liverpool could be without the injured trio for a second Premier League game in a row as they travel to Brentford on Saturday
Andoni Iraola said Liverpool still have to "wait and see" if Dominik Szoboszlai , Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo will be available for Saturday's trip to Brentford in the Premier League.
The trio all missed Liverpool's defeat to Manchester City on Sunday and were absent again for the 6-3 win over LASK in the Champions League in midweek.
Iraola said on Thursday that it was too early to rule any of Szoboszlai, Isak or Gakpo out of contention and wanted to keep the "chance open" of a return to action.
"It is early for us to say," Iraola said when asked about his injured trio. "We have two more training sessions. Obviously they were not ready for yesterday.
"We have to wait and see, I think it is still very early but the same way I said that they were not available for the previous games, I will leave the chance open this time."
Liverpool will also be without the suspended Ryan Gravenberch after his sending off in the 3-0 defeat to City but Iraola's stretched squad were boosted by the performances of Trey Nyonyi and Lewis Koumas in the win at LASK.
"We'll need to change again at the weekend, we will need to change again when we face Villarreal in another three days," Iraola said. "We need everyone. We need everyone in one moment or the other. Everyone has to be ready because we will need him probably."
Bradley Barcola scored his first Liverpool goals with a hat-trick in the 6-3 win over the Austrian champions on Tuesday and Iraola was pleased to see how the France international's confidence is growing with every game.
"I think it is still very early," Iraola said. "Especially for him, that hasn't played any minutes in pre-season. He has kind of been doing the pre-season in the first games we have had.
"It is always remarkable because he scored three goals in a Champions League game, not a lot of players can say that they have done it, so it is something nice for him, but the best thing is we can see his confidence on the ball.
"Straight away from the beginning of the game you can feel that he was confident on going into one-on-one situations, attacking the spaces and those are his strengths."
