Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson reportedly broke up in late 2025, but still 'committed to their business partnerships'
One of the most-scrutinized romances in sports is reportedly over.
UNC head coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson broke up in late 2025, according to a report from TMZ .
The specifics of the breakup are unclear, including who initiated it, but it was apparently amicable enough that TMZ says they are told the pair remain "committed to their business partnerships and remain close friends."
There has been no public indication the much-publicized relationship has ended, as Hudson has remained on the UNC sidelines at games this year. Her most recent Instagram post, dated May 2, features the two holding hands at the Kentucky Derby, with the caption "Not the first time we've trudged through the mud together."
Belichick, 73, and Hudson first met on a flight in 2021 and went public with their relationship in 2024 while the six-time Super Bowl winner spent the season out of coaching.
By May 2025, The New York Times was reporting that Hudson had told at least one person that she and Belichick were engaged. The relationship reportedly ended months later, though Hudson has continued to work alongside Belichick essentially as his brand manager.
Jordon Hudson was a central figure in Bill Belichick's life, and apparently still is
The initial reactions to Belichick and Hudson's relationship in 2024 ranged from shock to amusement over the nearly five-decade age gap — Hudson was born in 2001, months before Belichick's first Super Bowl-winning season with the New England Patriots.
Hudson's role in Belichick's professional life first received scrutiny in April 2025 when she curtly interrupted a Belichick interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" after the coach was asked about how the two met. Belichick defended Hudson in the aftermath of the interview, and said that she was "simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track."
Belichick was doing the interview to promote his book, however CBS said that no topic was off-limits as part of the discussion.
Not long after the CBS interview was released, North Carolina denied a report from the "Pablo Torre Finds Out" podcast that Hudson had been banned from the North Carolina football facilities. In its statement, UNC said that Hudson was "welcome to the Carolina Football facilities" and that she would "continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick's personal brand."
Hudson has been widely reported to have never had an official role at UNC, working instead as a manager for Belichick's own business operations.
That management extended to the now-shelved docu-series that was going to follow North Carolina during its tumultuous 2025 season. The Hulu series was scrapped after North Carolina failed to beat a power conference opponent over the first half of the season. The contracts for the series detailed that Belichick could stop production at any time by retracting his consent to cooperate and Hudson signed one of them as the COO of TCE Rights Management LLC regarding Belichick's own image rights.
Hudson hasn't received quite as much publicity in 2026, which has been a more successful season for UNC through seven games. The school's record is 4-3, which includes Belichick's first ranked win over No. 25 Pitt .
The Tar Heels play No. 1 Miami on Saturday.
