Northampton 1-0 Rotherham

A tight game was decided by Mullin's emphatic spot-kick 17 minutes from the end as the Millers won on the road for the first time this season.

Home goalkeeper Zach Jeacock clawed away Fabio Tavares' curling effort in the opening 10 minutes, but Northampton were the better side in the first half and had the majority of the play.

An excellent last-ditch tackle snuffed out Nathan Opoku when he found space in the box before Owen Dale shot over and Max Dyche headed straight at Julian Eyestone.

Rotherham almost snuck ahead right on half-time after Jeacock reacted smartly to deny Josh Austerfield, and Northampton's goalkeeper also kept out Mullin on the restart.

The visitors were in the ascendency for most of the second half and they made the crucial breakthrough when Mullin smashed home from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Dyche.

Northampton pushed for an equaliser but Harvey Saunders missed their big chance when thwarted by Eyestone in added time.
