Dante Moore Injured on Illegal Hit, Latest Updates After Oregon QB Was Transported to Hospital

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was stretchered off the field, loaded into an ambulance and transported to the hospital after suffering an injury on a violent hit during the No. 20 Ducks' matchup with No. 12 USC on Saturday.

Moore was hit above the shoulders by Trojans linebacker Desman Stephens II as he was sliding after scrambling for a first down in the second quarter.

Moore was transported to Los Angeles General County Hospital for further evaluation. According to the NBC broadcast , Moore has feeling in all of his extremities.

"He's moving, he has the ability to move, so we'll continue to assess him, but I don't want to make any speculation on further thoughts on that until we have more information with him," Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said after the Ducks' 41-27 win.

Oregon backup quarterback Dylan Raiola replaced Moore under center.

After Raiola helped finish Oregon's drive with a touchdown, he threw up Moore's No. 5 with his right hand to support his teammate.

Moore was 8-of-10 for 77 yards before exiting the contest.

The 21-year-old's absence is a tough blow to Oregon's offense. He started his 2026 campaign on a high note after choosing to forgo the NFL draft and return to the Ducks on Jan. 14.

In Moore's first three games this season, he completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 849 yards and nine touchdowns without getting picked off. Oregon posted a 2-1 record over that span.

Moore was projected to be off the board with the No. 4 overall pick in the latest 2027 mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

While he's sidelined, Raiola will help lead the Ducks' offense.

Raiola is in the midst of his first season at Oregon but has plenty of experience, previously serving as Nebraska's starting quarterback from 2024-25.

In 22 games with the Cornhuskers, he completed 69.1 percent of his throws for 4,819 yards and 31 touchdowns compared to 17 interceptions.
