LSU women's basketball loses blue-chip recruit to SEC rival

LSU women's basketball missed on one of the top forwards in the 2027 recruiting class. Madi Mignery committed to Florida, according to a report from Rivals' Talia Goodman on Sunday. She picked the Gators out of a top three that included LSU and Stanford.

Mignery made a trip to Baton Rouge a week before announcing her decision. She spent time head coach Kim Mulkey and staff during the weekend of LSU football's game against Louisiana Tech. The Gators visited Mignery at her home a few days before she headed to LSU.

Rivals' Industry Rankings lists Mignery as the No. 25 overall prospect in the 2027 cycle and the No. 2 player out of Florida. The six-foot small forward hails from Sarasota, FL. She ranks No. 8 at her position.

The Tigers remain in the mix for three of the top-25 prospects in the 2027 recruiting class. They hosted small forward Ivana Wilson-Manyack and combo guard GG Banks in early September. Carolina Bradley, who is already committed to LSU, also made the trip to campus. All three rank in the national top 10 among 2027 players.
