Will Josh Simmons play on 'SNF'? Status update for Chiefs OL in Week 7

Offensive lineman Josh Simmons was expected to be the Kansas City Chiefs ' starting left tackle this season but has yet to take the field in 2026.

Will Simmons make his debut during Kansas City's Week 7 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on 'Sunday Night Football'?

Here's the latest update on Simmons' status:

Simmons is dealing with a back injury that has kept him from being a full participant in any of the Chiefs' practices during the 2026 NFL regular season.

Kansas City placed Simmons on its injured reserve list this week, meaning that he will miss at least four games. Simmons is not going to play against the Seahawks on 'Sunday Night Football' this evening.

With Simmons sidelined for the foreseeable future, Kansas City is set to start rookie offensive lineman Kahlil Benson at the left tackle spot in Week 7.
