Arch Manning Falls Over Videographer During Texas' Pregame Smoke Entrance in Video, Photo

Texas quarterback Arch Manning had a scary moment before the Longhorns' season opener against Texas State on Saturday.

Manning was coming out of the tunnel during the team's pregame smoke entrance, and he fell over a videographer and hit the ground. Luckily, he wasn't injured and managed to play.

The fall clearly didn't impact Manning too much, as he threw for 304 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in the 59-7 rout of the Bobcats.

Manning is in his fourth season with the Longhorns and his second as the team's starter. He had a strong first season under center, throwing for 3,163 yards, 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions, adding 399 rushing yards and 10 scores on the ground.

Texas finished the 2025 season 10-3, beating Michigan in the Citrus Bowl after missing the College Football Playoff.

While it was a good start to his time as the team's starter, he's looking for more this year.

The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning is an early candidate to both win the Heisman Trophy and be taken in the first round of the NFL draft, but he has some work to do to reach those heights.

The Longhorns also have championship hopes and believe Manning is the quarterback who can deliver them their first national title since 2005.

Manning and Texas will get a big test next week as they face Ohio State in Austin. The Longhorns lost to the Buckeyes on the road last year, and it was likely the loss that kept them out of the CFP.

When Manning runs through the tunnel next week, he'll be sure to try to stay on his feet.
