VAR image shows why Lamine Yamal’s goal was disallowed for Barcelona vs Valencia
By a toenail.
Lamine Yamal opened the scoring for Barcelon a against Valencia on Sunday with a brilliant strike but was denied a second minutes later due to VAR.
The Barcelona star saw his effort ruled out for an incredibly tight offside call. The image released after the decision was made show just how marginal the decision was to chalk off Yamal's goal.
Barcelona did go on to score a second in the first half. Fermin Lopez made it 2-0 after 22 minutes as Hansi Flick's side made a great start to the match.
Yamal was named in the starting XI despite missing full training before the game due to a knock. Yet the teenager showed no signs of injury as he began the game in great shape.
The teenager now has three goals in four games so far this season for Barcelona in La Liga and seems to be playing with a smile on his face again.
