The Dunbar High School football program is pulling double duty this week in an effort to make up a previously canceled game.
The Wolverines will be playing varsity football games on back-to-back days. Dunbar is playing Cincinnati Northwest (6-1) at 6 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 8. The next day, Dunbar will face Stivers (0-4) at 7 p.m. Both games will be held at Welcome Stadium.
Dunbar athletic director Deondra Wynn confirmed Tuesday that both games will be played.
Dunbar was originally set to play Stivers on Aug. 28. It was canceled a few days after Dayton Public School officials canceled the Stivers football season. DPS ended up restarting the Stivers season two days later.

The Wolverines will be playing three games in a seven-day span. The game against Northwest will be held on five days rest for Dunbar. The team lost to Trotwood 51-6 in its most recent game on Friday, Oct. 2.
The Dayton Daily News has reached out to Ohio High School Athletic Association officials for comment.
OHSAA regulations allow for a maximum of four quarters to played in one day, per regulation 1.31. There are no regulations regarding playing games on consecutive days or requiring a designated rest period in-between games. In season practice regulation 1.18.1 reads "consider limiting full contact on consecutive days."
In its final two scheduled games of the season, Dunbar will play Thurgood Marshall on Oct. 17 and Meadowdale on Oct. 22.
Dunbar is 3-3 overall this season and are in first-place in the Dayton City League standings with a 2-0 record.
