Colorado WR duo earns recognition on Earl Campbell Award watch list

Colorado wide receiver duo Joseph Williams and Quentin Gibson were named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watch list on Tuesday.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player from the state of Texas who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity.

Williams played in 10 games during the 2025 season and finished with 37 receptions for 489 yards and four touchdowns. He nearly won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week during Week 7 against Iowa State, where he hauled in eight receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown.

He enters the 2026 season as one of Colorado 's top four wideouts along with Danny Scudero , DeAndre Moore Jr. and Kam Perry.

Gibson enters his sophomore season after playing in all 12 games as a true freshman. He finished the year with 15 receptions for 71 yards. He made a huge impact on special teams with 25 kickoff returns for 597 yards, an average of 23.9 yards per return. Gibson was tabbed a FWAA Freshman All-American returner for his performance in 2025.

The watchlist will be narrowed to a maximum of 16 semifinalists in November and no more than five finalists in December. The winner will be honored in late January 2027.
