Week 3 IDP fantasy football rankings at DL, LB, DB with Devin Lloyd rising

Carolina Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd jumped into the top six of my Week 3 individual defensive player (IDP) fantasy football rankings after a two-interception game at Atlanta , and two rookie linebackers also made big moves after heavy tackle totals. To Lloyd's credit, he looked great in NFL Week 1 too, so this looks like the start of a larger trend.

Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks stays No. 1 overall for Kansas City at Miami. Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton still lead the defensive line and defensive back boards.

Aidan Hutchinson, Dallas Turner lead DL rankings

Hutchinson stays DL1 after he strip-sacked Josh Allen on the third play of Detroit's 41-31 loss at Buffalo. He finished with three tackles and a sack, and that sack set a Lions record for straight games with a sack.

The 6-foot-7 pass rusher now has three sacks in two games. He gets New York at Detroit this week.

Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Dallas Turner made the biggest move in the top 10. He jumped from DL15 to DL7 after five tackles, two sacks and four quarterback hits in a 9-3 win at Chicago. His second sack came on the last snap of the game.

Turner also created 11 pressures , and he never had more than five in a game last season. He's tied for third in the NFL with three sacks heading into Minnesota at Tampa Bay.

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby , Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt , Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa round out the top five.

Devin Lloyd and rookie linebackers rise in LB rankings

Lloyd posted nine tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and two interceptions in Carolina's 34-3 win at Atlanta on Sept. 20. He returned one pick 16 yards for a touchdown.

No linebacker since 1982, when sacks became an official stat, had eight or more tackles, two interceptions, a pick-six and a sack in one game. The former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker has 22 tackles through two games and has played 85 percent of Carolina's defensive snaps. He climbs from LB21 to LB6 for Carolina at Cleveland.

Dolphins rookie Jacob Rodriguez jumped from LB36 to LB10 . The Texas Tech product wears the green dot for Miami, so he relays the play calls to the defense. He made 14 tackles in his debut and eight more at San Francisco for 22 total.

San Francisco offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak called him "a tackle machine" before the two teams met.

Tennessee Titans rookie Anthony Hill Jr. made an even bigger leap, from LB59 to LB16. He set a record for tackles by a rookie in his NFL debut with 16 against the New York Jets .

Head coach Robert Saleh then made the former Texas linebacker his starting middle linebacker for Week 2. Hill led Tennessee's linebackers in snaps and posted a team-high 10 tackles against Philadelphia . His 26 tackles lead the NFL heading into Tennessee at New York Giants .

Kyle Hamilton stays DB1 as Titans safeties climb

Hamilton stays DB1 for Baltimore at Dallas. Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James Jr., Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker , Los Angeles Rams safety Quentin Lake and Washington Commanders safety Nick Cross fill out the top five.

Titans safety Kevin Winston Jr . moved from DB23 to DB11 after 10 tackles in Week 1 and eight more against Philadelphia .

Teammate Amani Hooker rose from DB26 to DB12. He also had 10 tackles in the opener, and he returned an interception of Jalen Hurts for 92 yards in Week 2.

Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori fell from DB7 to DB32. The second-year defensive back came back from offseason ankle surgery in Seattle's 31-7 win at Arizona, but it was a limited return . He needs a bigger snap share before he moves back into the top 10, starting with Seattle at Washington.
