The Philadelphia Eagles have to feel good about how they've started the 2026 season. Philly is 2-0 headed into their Week 3 matchup against Chicago on Monday Night Football. One Eagles defender shared what the team wants to avoid after losing to the Bears last season.
Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis explained both the good and the bad of watching game tape from last year's matchup against the Bears before Week 3.
"It's a painful week because you got to watch that film over again but it's very enlightening," Davis said on Thursday per ESPN's Tim McManus. "It was enlightening after the game and it was enlightening now this week, especially playing a scheme that's kind of similar-ish with our offense. Just providing those cutback lanes and stuff like that."

Philly lost last year's game against Chicago 24-15 in front of their home fans. It was a close game for all four quarters, but the Eagles defense got absolutely crushed by the Bears' running attack.
The Eagles allowed a whopping 281 rushing yards in that game. That included 22 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown for Kyle Monangai . D'Andre Swift got involved as well with 18 carries for 125 yards and a touchdown. Ben Johnson saw that running the ball worked and he never let up.
Davis does not want a repeat of that performance on Monday Night Football. If the Eagles stay true to who they are, they can change the outcome.
"It's one thing about just going out there and being disciplined, it's another thing about just playing style and being the defense that we know we are," David concluded.
Fortunately, the Bears may not have much of a passing game. Case Keenum looks poised to start with both Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent nursing injuries. So if the Eagles sell out to stop the run, they could end up cruising to an easy victory.
Eagles at Bears kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Sept. 28 from Soldier Field in Chicago .
