Is your favorite girls soccer team in the first edition of GametimeCT's weekly power rankings?

This season, GametimeCT debuts its weekly girls soccer power rankings. We have a full week of games, plus recent past history to make determinations who we think belong in the top 10.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a media poll, nor a Connecticut coaches poll, which GametimeCT runs weekly . It is determined by girls soccer writer Joe Morelli each week. If you are a veteran girls soccer coach or fan, the choices may not come as a surprise. But the order might.

Greenwich surprised a lot of people by winning its first CIAC championship in its first appearance. And until proven otherwise, the Cardinals are No. 1. St. Joseph did beat Greenwich in last year's FCIAC championship in penalty kicks before losing in the Class LL second round at New Canaan .

Amity and Mercy will play one another again this season, so we should get an idea which team is better. Amity reached the Class LL final last season and Mercy beat St. Joseph in the final second in the 2024 LL championship game. Simsbury, which dropped into Class L this season, rounds out the top five.

Notre Dame Prep, the reigning SWC tournament champion , is sixth, followed by Ridgefield, Farmington, North Haven and Staples.
