Sayin, Jeremiah Smith Impress, Box Score Stats, Highlights, Draft Stock from OSU's Win vs. Illinois

Jeremiah Smith delivered the first 200-yard game of his Ohio State career on a record-setting Saturday inside Ohio Stadium.

Smith set career highs in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns in Ohio State's 42-19 win over the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Smith didn't waste long getting on the board on Saturday. He caught a seven-yard touchdown pass for the first score of the game.

Smith's longest touchdown reception of the contest gave Ohio State a 14-0 advantage. He made a defensive back look silly on his approach to the end zone, as he twisted around on the 15 yards of the scoring play.

Smith capped his incredible first half with a nine-yard touchdown catch in which he displayed impressive control to secure the ball.

The Heisman Trophy candidate ended up with 150 receiving yards in the first half, and in the process, he became the first Buckeye to record 3,000 career receiving yards.

The potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL draft finished off his day with 26-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.

Julian Sayin was equally as impressive with one rushing touchdown to go with his four scoring throws to Smith.

Sayin, Smith and the Buckeyes will take their high-flying offensive show on the road next week for a clash with the Iowa Hawkeyes. It's the first of four Big Ten road games for the Buckeyes.
