Yu Zidi: China's rising star, 13, wins second swimming gold at Asian Games

Thirteen-year-old swimmer Yu Zidi continued her record-breaking exploits at the Asian Games by winning gold in the 200m individual medley.

China's Yu won in a new Games record of two minutes 06.10 seconds in Tokyo and was just four-tenths of a second behind the world record.

"Very excited, very happy. It's an achievement that shows the hard work of our team," said Yu.

The schoolgirl also set an Asian Games record in winning the 200m butterfly to claim her first major gold on Sunday's opening day.

She added: "I'm happier with the second gold medal than the first."

Yu became the youngest swimmer to win a medal at the World Championships when she took bronze as a 12-year-old as part of China's 4x200m freestyle relay team last year.
