Cowboys' Shiyazh Pete Gives Inspirational Locker-Room Speech in Viral Video After NFL Preseason Game

Following the Dallas Cowboys' 34-13 preseason road win over the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, offensive tackle Shiyazh Pete delivered a stirring speech to his Cowboys teammates.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that he had never seen an entire cheering section for a singular player during a preseason game before, but because Pete had exactly that at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, he allowed Pete to break the team down in the locker room:

Expressing gratitude and pride to play for the Cowboys, Pete said, "This game, this star, this team will make us brothers."

Pete, who is originally from Montana and played collegiately at New Mexico State and Kentucky, is a member of the Navajo Native American tribe. A large contingent of Native Americans were in attendance for Saturday's game, and they gave him a warm reception, per Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News .

The Cowboys signed Pete as an undrafted free agent in April, and he has been making his case for a roster spot throughout training camp and the preseason.
