Deion Sanders Compares Shilo to Mike Tyson in Trending Video After Son's 2025 NFL Preseason Fight

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has never been one to mince words, and he was brutally honest in a recent conversation with his son, Shilo.

In a new video, Coach Prime and Shilo brought up the 26-year-old's punch that got him ejected from an NFL preseason game in 2025 when he was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, revealing that the 59-year-old immediately let him know that his football career had come to an end in that moment. The moment even led to a brief Mike Tyson reference.

"Pack up all your stuff, don't even look back. It's over," Sanders recalls telling his son (31:30 mark). "I'm not one of those fathers who sugarcoat things."

In addition to being ejected for punching Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson after a play, Shilo received a $4,669 fine after he was released from the Bucs as part of final roster cuts. The former Colorado safety announced in May that he was likely done pursuing a football career.

Coach Prime also gave Shilo some hard truths about himself as they discussed housecare and other facets of adulthood.

"You know you're not a general labor type person. You're not built like that," Sanders said. "Look at your hands. There ain't ever been hard days' work in your hands, ever."

"Dawg, I've been working hard for your team, for your benefit," Shilo replied. "It ain't benefit me."

"For my benefit? You wanted to be Jack the Ripper on the field," his father retorted. "You wanted to be Mike Tyson knockout on the field."

Sanders' Buffaloes opened the 2026 season with a 14-13 win over Georgia Tech and will face Weber State on Saturday.
