Cleveland Browns receiver KC Concepcion took a violent hit from New York Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick on Sunday, and his teammates were quick to defend him.

Offensive lineman Dawand Jones relayed to reporters what he told Fitzpatrick after the hit.

"I just told him that s--t's f--ked up. ... He just told me, 'It's football,' and I'm not down with that s--t," Jones said. "That s--t's not football at that point."

Concepcion was forced to exit the game and did not return after the hit, for which Fitzpatrick received a personal foul for unnecessary roughness. Concepcion posted a positive update on his Instagram after the scary hit.

While Jones made it clear he felt that the hit from Fitzpatrick was a step too far, Browns head coach Todd Monken called it a "bang-bang play."

"That's just a bang-bang play," he said. "Minkah has been in this league a long time. He's not a dirty player. I've never seen that out of him. It's a bang-bang play, and unfortunately it happened to our guy, and that's part of the league."

Concepcion, the 24th overall pick out of Texas A&M in 2026, has recorded 18 receptions for 149 yards so far this season. He came into Sunday's game tied for the most receptions on the Browns, so he's clearly been a big part of their offense early on.

It's unclear whether he'll have to miss time yet, but he would be a pretty big loss for Cleveland.

After winning their last three games, the Browns lost Sunday's game 17-12. The surprisingly strong start to the year means the playoffs are within reach, and they'll look to get back on track next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
