Why Peyton Manning's Son Marshall Played Limited Snaps in HSFB Debut and What to Expect in 2026

Marshall Manning, son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, got his first taste of high school football by playing two snaps for Baylor School in a 38-20 win over Brentwood.

Baylor head coach Erik Kimrey explained after the game that Manning's limited usage was part of the development plan as he gets ready to become the starting quarterback in 2027.

"We planned it," Kimrey said. "I want Marshall to play in every game this year, even if it's just two plays like that. Hopefully it'll be a lot more. We need him next year and he needs to be ready."

Predicting When Injured Stars Will Debut

Baylor School, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is opening the season ranked No. 12 nationally by MaxPreps . Manning is only 15 years old and will be part of the 2030 college recruiting class.

Keegan Croucher, a 4-star recruit in the 2027 class who is committed to Mississippi, is the No. 1 quarterback for the Red Raiders.

Manning's two snaps came in the second quarter. He completed a pass to wide receiver Anwtaun Adams on his first play, then handed the ball off to star running back David Gabriel Georges on his final snap.

Thursday's game was a rematch of last year's Tennessee state championship game. Baylor won that contest 28-24 behind 151 rushing yards and a touchdown from Georges, the No. 2 running back recruit in 2027 who will play college football at Tennessee.
