With the NFL trade deadline approaching, how are the Jacksonville Jaguars currently positioned from a salary cap perspective?

According to Over the Cap , the Jaguars have $4.65 million in available salary cap space. Compared to the rest of the NFL, this ranks 25th.

Dating back to the offseason, the Jaguars have been relatively short on cap space. In part, that is a product of the hefty amount of dead cap sitting on the 2026 books from the heavy roster turnover that took place in 2025.

Jacksonville has over $61 million in dead cap counting against their 2026 cap sheet -- the eighth-most in the NFL.

If GM James Gladstone wants to acquire a player before the deadline, there is still some room to do so, but making any type of big splash may prove to be difficult. Or, at the bare minimum, there would have to potentially be corresponding cap maneuvers made to help create more space.

In terms of draft capital, the Jaguars once again are projected to have a good amount of picks in 2027.

If there is a position group or two that Jacksonville could look to bolster, adding to the pass rush rotation or bringing in some offensive tackle depth would seem to make the most sense.
