Bears Backup QB Case Keenum Celebrates Upset Win Over Eagles with Daughter in Sweet Postgame Scene

Keenum was playing his first NFL game after more than 1,000 days

It was a night to remember for Case Keenum — and his daughter, Cadence!

On Monday, Sept. 28, the third-string Chicago Bears quarterback, 38, started in his first NFL game after more than 1,000 days.

And he tore the proverbial roof off Soldier Field in his performance, after being inserted into the lineup in the wake of Caleb Williams' hamstring injury .

When the dust cleared in the Bears' 27-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles , Keenum's presence was required on ESPN, and Cadence happily joined him at the desk.

"It was so much fun," Case told Scott Van Pelt. "I'm going to remember this night forever. This is incredible."

For Keenum — a 15-year NFL veteran who has played with the Texans , Rams , Vikings, Broncos , Commanders (then Redskins), Browns and Bills — experience played a role in his stellar performance.

The Texas native completed 24 of 34 attempts for 247 yards and two touchdowns en route to the victory.

But playing in front of his family, including his parents and in-laws , was a moment he'll most cherish.

"I thought of them a lot on the sidelines," Keenum told Van Pelt. "To have my wife, Kimberly, and Kyler and Cadence to be able to [say], hey they're watching their dad out there play. And it was so much fun."

The signal-caller earned a game ball from head coach Ben Johnson and gave a rousing, emotional speech in the locker room after the game.

"Man I love you guys, it's a special night, this was taken from me many times," Keenum said. "To have my family, my kids watching, and get to do it with this family right here."

He added, "I may not be a Cowboy but this isn't my first f---ing rodeo!"
