New NFL Trade Rumors on Brian Thomas Jr., Chances of Jaguars Dealing WR Before 2026 Deadline

Now that trade deadline season is in full swing after the Indianapolis Colts' moves on Tuesday, another AFC South team appears poised to make a significant deal within the next two weeks.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler , the feeling among multiple executives around the NFL is that Brian Thomas Jr.'s days with the Jacksonville Jaguars "are numbered" as his role in the offense has significantly diminished this season.
In the same article, Dan Graziano noted several teams still consider Thomas to be a "high-end talent" and would trade "something of value" to bring him in.
Fowler did add it's not considered a "slam dunk" that Thomas will get moved, but a fresh start could serve the third-year wideout well.
The Jaguars are in a tricky spot because they would seemingly not want to trade Thomas within the AFC given that they are a strong playoff contender and don't want the risk of him potentially helping a team they could go up against in January.
Teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers have been cited as potentially searching for receiver help leading up to the trade deadline.
Another potential hurdle could be the cost if the Jaguars are using the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade as a comparison. The Arizona Cardinals were able to get a 2027 second-round draft pick from the Houston Texans for Harrison.
It's not an unfair comparison since both players recently turned 24 and were first-round picks in the 2024 draft. Thomas' ceiling in the NFL is much higher than Harrison's since he put up 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie.
So far this season, it does seem like Thomas isn't a factor in Jacksonville's offensive game plan. He has nine catches in six games, has played fewer than 50 percent of the offensive snaps in three of those contests, including a total of 15 snaps in Week 6 against the Texans.
This does feel like the last opportunity for the Jaguars to get any significant value for Thomas. An acquiring team would be getting him at a time when they can evaluate his play with his fifth-year option needing to be decided on in the offseason.
The NFL trade deadline is at 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 10. Jacksonville has two games in a four-day span starting on Sunday against the Colts before a Week 9 Thursday night matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 5.
