It is one of the hardest days on the calendar for players in the National Football League, as NFL teams have to cut their roster sizes down to just 53 players, making a lot players in need of finding new homes. A pair of former Spartans were on the wrong side of the news cycle today, failing to make a 53-man roster.

Offensive tackle AJ Arcuri and punter Jack Bouwmeester were cut by the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Bouwmeester, a punter at MSU in 2019, has yet to stick anywhere in the NFL. Arcuri, a standout offensive lineman for Michigan State from 2016-2021, was drafted by the Rams in the 7th round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Since then, he has spent his entire career with the organization, appearing in 10 games and making one start.

Now, both former Spartans will be looking for a practice squad home to continue their dreams of playing professional football.
