Updated 2027 NFL Draft Order After Week 5 Results, Who Could Titans & Chargers Take?
The three remaining winless teams in the NFL are the favorites to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL draft after Week 5.
The three remaining winless teams in the NFL are the favorites to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL draft after Week 5.
The Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins occupy the first three spots in the projected draft order.
There doesn't seem to be much hope in sight for any of those three teams, so they may all be at the forefront of the No. 1 pick battle for the foreseeable future.
Five teams left Week 5 with just one victory. They are still very much in the running for the top pick as well, but at least right now, there's a clear hierarchy in the race to be the league's worst team.

C.J. Carr played his way into the conversation of top quarterbacks to be drafted in April.
The Notre Dame signal-caller has 16 touchdown passes and a single interception through six games.
Carr threw for at least 230 yards in five of his six games and owns a 70.8 completion percentage.
The Titans are still committed to Cam Ward, but if things continue to not go well, they at least have to explore the deep quarterback draft pool.
Carr is one of many potential options, along with Arch Manning, Dante Moore and Darian Mensah among others that should be first-round picks in April.
The Chargers will probably try to add help around Justin Herbert, but the Dolphins could be in the quarterback market to take the next step in their rebuild.
It may be hard for anyone to match Colin Simmons as the top defensive prospect in the 2027 draft class.
Simmons had two more sacks on Saturday in the Texas Longhorns' loss to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Simmons is up to 9.5 sacks and 12 solo tackles through six games for the previous No. 1-ranked team in the country.
If the Titans, Chargers or Dolphins don't go the quarterback route, Simmons should be at, or near, the top of their draft boards.
An argument can be made that Simmons could make the biggest impact on a team out of the 2027 draft class. Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is also in that discussion.
Regardless, Simmons should be in the top five or top 10 conversation because of how impactful he can be on defense.
