The idea of trading for a quarterback is reportedly "on the table" for the Minnesota Vikings ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline.

During an appearance on the Thursday Night Football postgame show, Prime Video NFL insider James Palmer reported on what he has heard about the Vikings and their potential pursuit of a quarterback:

Palmer noted that the Vikings "know the market" and which quarterbacks are available, as general manager Nolan Teasley has been working the phones and looking into trades to address multiple positions.

While the Vikings reportedly "still believe" in starting quarterback Kyler Murray, Palmer added that the team's performance on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills this coming week could determine whether Minnesota makes a move at QB.

Murray will not start on Monday night due to a hamstring injury that has him listed as week-to-week , meaning backup Carson Wentz will be under center.

Signed as a free agent this past offseason after getting released by the Arizona Cardinals, Murray has gone 5-1 in six starts, but his production has been modest, completing 64.9 percent of his passes for 1,022 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing for 167 yards.

Murray suffered a concussion early in the Vikings' first game of the season, prompting Wentz to replace him. Wentz led Minnesota to a win in that game and then started and won the next game before Murray returned to the lineup.

Over the two games Wentz appeared in, he completed 59.0 percent of his passing attempts for 276 yards with three touchdowns and no picks.

Both Murray and Wentz are viable options for the Vikings moving forward this season, but the organization potentially wanting to take an aggressive approach is understandable.

Minnesota is tied for the best record in the NFL at 6-1, and it has the No. 1 defense in the league in terms of points allowed at 13.3 per game.

The Vikings also have a superstar wide receiver in Justin Jefferson who has not been used to the best of his ability.

If there is an available quarterback who can help improve the NFL's No. 27 scoring offense, then it is worth exploring, but there may not be an obvious upgrade out there unless the Las Vegas Raiders unexpectedly decide to part with Kirk Cousins despite a 4-4 record and playoff contention.
