Daejon Labrayae Love posed as a fake San Francisco 49ers WR on dating apps and duped 26 women out of $1.3 million

Daejon Labrayae Love allegedly ran a financial fraud scheme beginning in February 2022, using several names, including Jon Love, Daejon Love, Avril Lyto Love, and Jordan Love, to allegedly cover his tracks.According to court records, Love allegedly duped 26 women across Oregon, California, Washington, and Idaho out of more than $1.3 million by posing as a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver or a wealthy real estate investor on dating apps, including Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Facebook Dating, where he met many of his alleged victims.Love was arrested in August 2026, nearly four and a half years after the alleged scheme began. Along with the 35-year-old Love, 18-year-old Taylor Jamie Chan was also arrested for allegedly posing as his financial advisor. When the scheme began, Love would have been 31 and Chan, 14.Daejon Love allegedly gained the women’s trust by promising a future togetherLove allegedly made his victims believe that he wanted to settle down and build a future - and wealth - with them. Using that manipulation, he allegedly gained their trust and convinced them to give him money for fake investments promoted by his supposed financial advisor, Taylor Jamie Chan.He allegedly created fake bank and investment accounts, which he showed to his victims to make the scheme appear legitimate. Love and Chan allegedly staged three-way calls during which they showed victims bogus investment gains and encouraged them to take out personal loans.According to KGW News, Love allegedly created fake Instagram and bank accounts to trick women into believing that he could invest their money and generate massive returns.KGW News shared a video of Love sitting in a car and recording himself saying:“Okay, so I’m on my way to get my mom. I know I get a lot of fans who wanna know how football works or umm… how I got involved in the league...”He then opened the sunroof of his car.Court records state:“DAEJON LABRAYAE LOVE is a 35-year-old male who created fictitious personas to defraud numerous women he met primarily on online dating platforms. Love frequently falsely portrayed himself as a wealthy National Football League player for the San Francisco 49ers or a real estate investor from Switzerland.Love convinced many of his victims that they were in sincere romantic relationships with him and that he was financially savvy and successful to gain their trust. Love advertised nonexistent investments which Love claimed would get massive returns to his victims.”Fake 49ers social media posts allegedly helped sell the NFL personaKGW News further reported that the Instagram account allegedly used by Love showed him wearing 49ers gear and playing catch on the beach. He also reportedly posted Instagram Stories mentioning free agency, “Year 1,” and the Super Bowl - all within the same week.According to the Los Angeles Times, Love and Chan have been charged in federal court in Portland, Oregon, with wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.Court documents reportedly include screenshots of fake bank accounts and investment accounts allegedly used as part of the scheme.In one Instagram Story, Love allegedly used Google’s AI Overview - potentially pulling information from fake online accounts created to support his persona - to convince people that he played in the NFL.The AI Overview reportedly read:“Daejon Love is a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, and information about his position, contract, and teammate texting habits is available online. He is also associated with the team through various social media content and articles.”Love later attempted to justify the screenshots in another Instagram Story, recording himself while riding his bike and saying:“Okay, those two screenshots posted, that’s Google.
