3 Colts roster cuts who could be claimed on waivers by another team

A few players who were cut by the Indianapolis Colts could draw interest from other NFL teams.

Next up in the roster-building process for NFL teams is scouring the waiver wire market for players to add to their respective 53-man rosters.

Players who have fewer than four accrued NFL seasons are subject to waivers. If a team wants to add one of those players to their team, they will put in a claim. If multiple teams put in a claim, then that player goes to the team with the higher priority, which at this time of the year is determined by the original 2026 draft order before trades.

As teams look to continue tweaking their final rosters, here are a few now-former Colts players who could end up playing elsewhere this season.

The Colts' decision to release Wooden was a surprise. He brings a versatile skill set to a defensive front -- able to play across multiple gaps -- and Wooden can also impact both the run and pass games.

Grupe had his ups and downs in the preseason, but he was overall steady this summer, including training camp practices, and was perfect during the second half of last year. A team with uncertainty at kicker could look to bring Grupe in.

Bentley had a good showing this summer, to the point where he very much could have earned a roster spot with the Colts. For a team that is looking to add a pass-catching presence out of the backfield, Bentley could be a valuable addition.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Derrick Nnadi, and Juanyeh Thomas all have four-plus years of accrued NFL experience, so they are not subject to waivers. As free agents, they are able to sign where they please.
