San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected from Sunday's rivalry matchup against the Seattle Seahawks after headbutting an helmet-less Ernest Jones IV on the sidelines.

The incident happened after Greenlaw was flagged for a late hit on quarterback Sam Darnold and was approached by Seattle players on their sideline.

Greenlaw, 29, has had an eventful two weeks.

Last Sunday, he told Denver Broncos' head coach Sean Payton to " get the f--k off the field " following San Francisco's 24-14 win. That seemingly stemmed from Greenlaw feeling slighted by Payton during his one season with the Broncos in 2025:

Greenlaw also has a history of playing right up to the edge. Sunday's penalty for the Darnold hit was the eighth unnecessary roughness flag of his career, alongside a number of other incidents.

Coming into Sunday, the veteran linebacker had recorded 34 tackles and a forced fumble on the season.
