Dillon Gabriel's Box Score Stats & Highlights in Browns vs. Patriots After Shedeur-Watson QB Battle

Dillon Gabriel turned heads during the Cleveland Browns' 37-13 win over the New England Patriots in the team's preseason finale on Thursday night.

While Gabriel sits behind Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders on Cleveland's quarterback depth chart , he thrived in the third preseason game with three touchdown passes in the first half.

This came after Watson and Sanders combined for just one preseason touchdown pass over the first two games.

Former NFL QB has theory about Browns' QB pick

Gabriel went 12-of-15 for 186 yards and a 157.9 quarterback rating during the first half of his start. In the first quarter alone, the second-year player went 7-of-8 for 135 yards and two touchdowns without committing a turnover.

The Browns held a 17-7 lead heading into the second, amassing 175 total yards throughout the first 15 minutes of action. The lead grew to 27-13 at halftime against the defending AFC champions.

Taylen Green started at quarterback for the Browns in the second half, helping them put together multiple scoring drives.

Green finished 5-of-7 for 27 yards while showing off his dual-threat capabilities, rushing for 66 yards on just eight attempts. This included a 30-yard scramble in the third quarter.

Green was selected by the Browns with a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Cleveland named Watson as its starting quarterback on Monday following a positional battle with Sanders in training camp, although Gabriel proved that he can still help out the quarterback room.

Gabriel is entering his second year in Cleveland after he was selected with a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

He appeared in 10 games as a rookie, completing 59.5 percent of his throws for 937 yards and seven touchdowns compared to two interceptions.
