Watch Fernando Mendoza Shout Out Joe Buck on Live Broadcast Video During Raiders vs. Texans

In addition to showing off his football talent in Thursday's preseason contest against the Houston Texans, Fernando Mendoza also brought out the "aw-shucks" part of his personality at one point.

While being interviewed on the sidelines by ESPN's Laura Rutledge, Mendoza gave a shoutout to play-by-play commentator Joe Buck as only he can.

Predicting When Injured Stars Will Debut

Most NFL players would likely think to acknowledge Troy Aikman, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and Buck's longtime broadcast partner. Mendoza opted to go for the lead man in the booth because he "needs some more love."

Mendoza battled through a tough test against the Texans defense in playing the entire first half. He finished 8-of-15 for 86 yards and a pick-six thrown to Houston linebacker Wade Woodaz.

The Raiders got the last laugh by scoring 19 unanswered points in the second half to beat Houston 22-20.
