NFL rumors: Cardinals’ Jacoby Brissett benching sparks trade buzz with Ravens amid Lamar Jackson injury woes

The Arizona Cardinals have made a major change to their quarterback depth chart , and Jacoby Brissett could soon find himself with a new team. Despite Sunday's win over the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona has demoted Brissett to QB3, opening the door for potential trade discussions ahead of next week's deadline.

Gardner Minshew is now the Cardinals' starting quarterback after leading the Cardinals to a win on Sunday. Rookie Carson Beck has moved into the backup role.

According to NFL insider Ari Meirov, Brissett could become a trade target , with the Baltimore Ravens mentioned as a potential landing spot. Baltimore has dealt with serious injury concerns surrounding Lamar Jackson , as well as Tyler Huntley, making additional quarterback depth worth considering.

There is also a familiar connection that could make the Ravens an interesting fit. Baltimore hired Israel Woolfork as its quarterbacks coach this offseason after he previously held the same role with Arizona. Woolfork has worked with Brissett before, which could make a potential move easier for the Ravens to evaluate. Brissett has experience and could provide Baltimore with another veteran option if the team feels they can still contend.

Meirov also mentioned Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent as another possible option for Baltimore. Bagent previously worked with offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, giving the Ravens another familiar name to consider.

Nothing indicates that a Brissett trade is imminent, but his demotion makes the situation worth monitoring. Arizona appears comfortable moving forward with Minshew and Beck, while Baltimore could use another experienced quarterback as it navigates Jackson's injury concerns. With the deadline approaching, Brissett's future in Arizona is suddenly uncertain.
