According to Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post, the Denver Broncos have placed former seventh-round 2025 NFL Draft pick tight end Caleb Lohner on injured reserve.

Lohner was a basketball player who made a late transition to football in college. His measurables are off the charts for tight end, but he'll likely need more development than your typical tight end. He needed to have a standout camp to move the needle . Instead, he spent some time with an injury and that was much-needed time on the practice field missed.

Being a standout player at a rookie minicamp is one thing, but if he can continue to stand out during OTAs and minicamp moving forward, that hype train could be a fun one as we head into training camp.

Being placed on short-term injured reserve should give Denver more time to evaluate Lohner's development. If he ends up not on the 53-man roster, he would certainly be a strong practice squad candidate.
