Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network believes Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker is the "most intriguing" quarterback in the 2027 NFL draft class.

Jeremiah said the following in response to a question from Rich Eisen, who asked the analyst who he felt (at this time) would be the first quarterback taken off the board in the 2027 NFL draft (4:20 mark).

"Where we are right now, I think the most intriguing player when you put all that stuff together would be Mestemaker," Jeremiah began.

"Just off early season here. Dante Moore, obviously he's hurt, hopefully he's OK after that horrendous hit that he took, but he has not played his best ball. They were on the same field, I watched that tape, and from an NFL standpoint, Mestemaker was just so much more intriguing with the athleticism that he has to go along with the other array of skills.

"In an ideal world for him and his development, just more playing time, another year would be great. But in terms of where we are at this point in the season, Mensah's been outstanding with the decision-making and the accuracy; I think Mestemaker is a little more toolsy than him. When we get in draft time, Rich, that's usually what takes the cake."

Eisen and Jeremiah talked about Mestemaker's incredible rise up draft boards into QB1 consideration before Jeremiah added some praise for Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.

"And I'm a Chambliss guy too. I've been saying that from the jump. He's my favorite one to watch of all these guys. He is so talented and so tough and just such a natural thrower. Like to me, if you said who of all these quarterbacks you've got to win an NFL game tomorrow, like come in and win game one, he's the guy who's most equipped to help you win. He's ready to go."

In four games, Mestemaker has thrown for 11 touchdowns (five interceptions) and 1,271 yards (317.8 yards per game and 9.0 yards per attempt). The transfer from North Texas has led the Cowboys to a 3-1 record in Eric Morris' first season after OK State went 1-11 last year.

Mestemaker made waves in the Cowboys' second game, accounting for 426 total yards (317 passing, 109 rushing) and three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in a massive 39-31 upset win over Oregon, currently ranked No. 13 in the nation.

The race for QB1 looks wide open right now. Here's how the B/R Scouting Department ranks all quarterbacks in the top 50 on their latest big board (Sept. 22).

14. QB Trinidad Chambliss , Ole Miss (8.0)

47. QB Drew Mestemaker , Oklahoma State (7.6)

There's plenty of time and tape to evaluate before the NFL draft, which begins on April 29 in Washington, D.C. Mestemaker has done very well for himself thus far, though, on the road to the draft should he declare.
