Ravens pull off miracle to beat Cowboys with 7-second drive, Tyler Loop's 56-yard field goal as time expired

A seven-second drive? The Ravens found a way to treat Brazil to something American football fans rarely, if ever, see.

The Ravens found a way to win a topsy-turvy game late against the Cowboys on Tyler Loop 's 56-yard field goal as time expired, giving Baltimore an improbable 34-31 victory at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Stathead, this was the first multiplay, game-winning drive of fewer than eight seconds since at least 2001. According to ESPN, it was the latest a winning drive has started since at least 1978 .

The Cowboys tied the game, 31-all, on Brandon Aubrey 's field goal, with seven seconds remaining — a game that appeared destined for overtime. After Aubrey's touchback on the kickoff, Lamar Jackson hit Zay Flowers on a 27-yard pass play and Jackson quickly called timeout with :01 showing on the clock.

Loop, whose missed kick in Week 18 cost the Ravens a spot in the playoffs last season, finished this game off with the second-longest field goal of his career.

The Ravens improved to 2-1 while the Cowboys fell to 1-2. There were five lead changes in this wild game, including three scores in the final 90 seconds.

The Ravens staked the Cowboys to a 10-point lead early. After an early three-and-out, followed by a turnover on downs, the Ravens started moving offensively. They scored on three straight drives to close out the first half for a 17-13 lead, with Derrick Henry finding the end zone twice. The Ravens then upped the lead to 24-13 on Chris Moore 's TD.

The Cowboys fought back to take the lead after stopping Henry on fourth-and-goal and then drove 96 yards for the go-ahead score.

The Ravens regained the lead after finishing off a late drive on Matthew Hibner's TD catch — his first in the NFL — with 1:28 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Dallas then drove all the way to the Baltimore 2-yard line, but a false start and an incomplete pass on third down forced Dallas to tie the game with the field goal.

The Ravens struck back once again on Loop's epic game-winner, as Dallas left just too much time on the clock.

Jackson threw for 186 yards and two scores and ran for 50 yards. Dallas' Dak Prescott was terrific, too, throwing for 276 yards on 25-of-40 passing. The Cowboys moved the ball well most of the game, but it wasn't enough.
