Zay Flowers ruled out in Week 1 with hamstring injury after dominant first half

It's early, but Baltimore Ravens wideout Zay Flowers looked like he had taken a major step forward early in Week 1. But a dominant first half ended on a sour note, as Flowers left the game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a hamstring injury.

He was initially deemed questionable to return, but was later downgraded to out.

The injury came at an unfortunate time for Flowers, who was already having a career day before half time. When he left the contest, Flowers had five catches for a career-high 150 yards.

One of those catches was a 54-yard touchdown strike, in which he weaved his way through the Colts' defense for the score.

Just prior to halftime, Flowers limped on the sideline, per ESPN. He dealt with a hamstring injury throughout training camp, causing him to miss multiple weeks. Flowers, however, was able to return in time to practice in full ahead of Week 1.

After halftime, Flowers was spotted walking slowly on the sideline. When the Ravens took the field, he was not included in the team's first three-receiver set of the second half.

Turns out, that was all the Ravens had for the rest of Week 1, as rookie Ja'Kobi Lane was ruled out with a wrist injury . Once Flowers was also ruled out, the Ravens were limited to Rashod Bateman , Chris Moore and LaJohntay Wester at receiver the rest of the contest.

Big things are expected from Flowers after he signed a four-year, $140 million extension in August. He's gained over 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons.
