Los Angeles Rams safety Quentin Lake was less than impressed by what he saw from Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert in his team's 24-9 win.

Lake said on the St. Brown Podcast that Herbert "was throwing deli meat out there." He added the two-time Pro Bowler looks so shaky in the pocket he's "seeing ghosts."

Coach: Herbert 'Incredibly Uncomfortable'

Herbert went 24-of-32 for 257 yards and two interceptions. Lake was responsible for one of those picks as he jumped an out route by Chargers tight end Charlie Kolar.

Lake's biting assessment of Herbert speaks for itself, and a lot of fans who have watched the Chargers signal-caller probably feel the same way.

Even Herbert's biggest critics couldn't have predicted how badly the wheels would fall off for him. His 10 interceptions are the most in the NFL, and he's dead last in QBR (32.6) among qualified players, per ESPN.com .

"He doesn't seem comfortable in the offense," one AFC executive said to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler . "I don't know that it's a great schematic fit for his talents. He's throwing a lot of picks where he simply isn't seeing defenders. I don't know how it gets better."

Maybe Herbert rediscovers his confidence in the second half of the season, or the Chargers fire offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel and install a scheme that better suits him.

Until then, opposing secondaries are relishing their matchups against L.A.
