France has seen massive protests in the capital city and elsewhere. Buildings and streets have been significantly damaged as a result of the demonstrations.
For now, the NFL is proceeding with no expected changes to its plans.
"We continue to work closely with local authorities and partners on all operational and security matters," the league wrote in a statement to Front Office Sports' Mark Maske . "We are also providing the two clubs with regular updates. There's been no disruption or impact at league sites."
This is the first year the NFL has taken a game to France as part of its International Series. The Stade de France, which is traditionally used for the French national soccer and rugby teams, is the staging ground.
The game will kick off at 9:30 a.m. ET (2:30 p.m. CEST).
There are three more games after Week 7 in the International Series. The league will head to Madrid (Week 9), Munich (Week 10) and Mexico City (Week 11).
Moving a game outside of the United States at a late juncture isn't unprecedented for the NFL. Citing poor field conditions, a 2018 meeting between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams was shifted to Los Angeles from Mexico City.
The Saints have Week 8 bye following their trip to Paris, so they'll get added time to reset from the long flight or if there are any logistical challenges presented by changing the location.
That's not a luxury afforded to the Steelers as they play the rival Cleveland Browns on Nov. 1.
