Three members of the Indianapolis Colts who are potentially on the trade block offered their thoughts following Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Three members of the Indianapolis Colts who are potentially on the trade block offered their thoughts following Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Heading into the game, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported teams are circling around Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
With Indy now sitting at 2-5 on the season, a fire sale might be closer to happening.
"You come out, you play hard, you fight, and it always comes down to a couple plays," Taylor said of the Vikings game, per the Associated Press' Dave Campbell . "It's a very good team over there, but at the end of the day, I know we have the guys. We knew it was going to be a challenge, but you've got to think about how to find ways to just make one more play than your opponent."
Asked about his "level of frustration," Buckner responded as you'd expect and said he doesn't have a lot of answers to cure the Colts' woes:
"I just feel like everyone came to work and are doing their best," he said. "I don't know what else to say."
Indianapolis didn't lose Sunday through a lack of effort.
Taylor ran for 95 yards and a touchdown. The defense held Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray to 150 yards, and Minnesota didn't get its first touchdown until the fourth quarter.
But moral victories count for little when a team is sliding further away from the playoff picture. NFL.com puts the Colts' postseason probability at a paltry nine percent.
The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10, and Indianapolis has two games before then. Should the team suffer two more losses, the makeshift front office might be resigned to selling off some valuable assets and starting over.
