New NFL Rumors Reveal Seahawks' RB Plan for Charbonnet's Return from Injury, Updated Fantasy Outlook

The Seattle Seahawks will be without fourth-year running back Zach Charbonnet for at least the first four games of the season after placing him on the PUP list amid his recovery from a torn ACL.

However, Charbonnet should be a fantasy football target for any managers who draft Seahawks rookie running back Jadarian Price, as ESPN's Brady Henderson reported, "Whenever Charbonnet is all the way back, it's easy to envision the Seahawks splitting the work in their backfield fairly evenly between him and Price the way they did last season with Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III."

Charbonnet spent the 2025 season splitting carries with Walker, finishing with 184 carries for 730 yards and a team-high 12 touchdowns. He had the fewest carries of any running back who scored 10 or more rushing touchdowns last season.

Unfortunately, Charbonnet's year was cut short when he suffered a torn ACL in Seattle's Divisional Round matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, forcing him to be sidelined while the Seahawks went on to win the Super Bowl. Walker, who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, was named Super Bowl MVP after rushing for 135 yards in a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots.

Henderson reported that Charbonnet "appears to be in the closing stretch of his recovery from February surgery to repair an ACL tear he suffered in January." While Price is set to start the year as the lead back, George Holani is reportedly in line to get a "heavy dose" of touches. Henderson also noted that Seattle's Week 1 plan "will start to change once Charbonnet returns."

Any fantasy manager who selects Price should also make sure to roster Charbonnet as a contingency plan, as it sounds like the veteran will get his fair share of carries when he gets back on the field later in the year.
