One of the most well-known faces on NFL Sundays knows he's closing in on the end of his career. Long-time NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw hinted at retirement Tuesday, telling "NBC News Daily" he knows his "time on television as a sports broadcaster is coming to an end ."

Bradshaw, 78, appeared on the program discussing his new memoir, which is titled "Looking for Terry." During the interview, Bradshaw was asked about his busy schedule, which is when he said he was nearing the end of his broadcasting journey.

While Bradshaw did not reveal his retirement plans, he will be a significant loss whenever he decides to step away from his current role. After a Hall of Fame playing career — one that saw Bradshaw win four Super Bowls — the quarterback immediately signed a broadcasting deal with CBS in 1984. He was an in-game analyst with the network for years before eventually joining its pregame program in 1990.

Four years later, Bradshaw left the network for the same gig at Fox, where he's remained ever since. Over the years, Bradshaw has established himself as a staple of the network's pregame show "Fox NFL Sunday" where he appears in studio alongside Howie Long, Curt Menefee, Michael Strahan and many others.

While Bradshaw is known for his affable personality, his memoir — which was released Tuesday — focuses on his depression diagnosis, struggles with cancer and failed marriages. The broadcaster said that subject matter made his book a tough sell to publishers, who only wanted to hear stories about football.

For now, Bradshaw is still sharing those stories with fans every Sunday. While his retirement might not be imminent, the long-time analyst knows his on-camera time is approaching its end.
