After losing star quarterback Lamar Jackson to a thumb injury and backup Tyler Huntley to a toe injury, the Baltimore Ravens reportedly made a much-needed addition.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Ravens are finalizing a trade to acquire veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. The deal is expected to be completed this weekend.

Schefter added that the deal won't be finalized in time for Brissett to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football , leaving undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano as the likely starter. Brissett will be expected to make his debut in Week 10 on Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Earlier on Wednesday, Schefter reported that Huntley is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to turf toe, which will require surgery. The bad news came after Jackson was placed on injured reserve due to thumb surgery, ruling him out for at least a month.

Brissett started Arizona's first eight games but was benched on Sunday in favor of Gardner Minshew II, who led the team to a 33-30 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys. Rookie Carson Beck was named the backup, and he was relegated to QB3. The 33-year-old has completed 63.3 percent of his passes for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season.

At 4-4, the Ravens still have time to save their season and chase a playoff spot. Adding Brissett gives Baltimore a reliable signal-caller who can steady the ship until Jackson is able to return to the lineup.
