NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the fifth-year pass-catcher dislocated his ankle. While a recovery timeline isn't yet known, an injury this serious is likely to rule him out for most or all of the remaining season.

Thornton was in the midst of a career day. Prior to exiting, he had five receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

"His attitude is unbelievable," coach Andy Reid said of Thornton, per ESPN's Nate Taylor . "He's great for the team and kind of a leader of that [receivers] group. For that to happen, especially with the year he's having, he's had a phenomenal year to this point, it's a tough one to see for all of the guys."

Thornton signed a two-year, $11 million contract with Kansas City, so he'll have the opportunity to rebuild his on-field value in 2027 before he hits free agency again.
