Despite Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Houston Texans in the NFL London Game at Wembley Stadium, the Jacksonville Jaguars couldn't help but be excited by Travis Hunter's historic performance.
Hunter caught four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown and produced three tackles and an interception in Sunday's loss. The 23-year-old is now the fifth player in the Super Bowl era, including the playoffs, with a receiving touchdown and an interception in the same game, and the first to do so since Philadelphia Eagles star Brian Dawkins in 2002.
"Travis played awesome, made some huge plays for us, gave us a spark," Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence said after the game, per Ken Maguire of the Associated Press. "It was cool to get him involved. He's special with the ball in his hands."
Head coach Liam Coen revealed that the Jags planned to get Hunter more involved on offense this week after he spent most of the 2026 season focusing on his defensive duties as a starting cornerback. He could see more time on offense going forward.
"That was part of the plan, getting him a little bit more involved early, made some critical plays for us on both sides of the football obviously," Coen said. "I was proud of the way he competed, made some plays for us on offense. Got to keep building off of it."
Hunter will try to keep working on his two-way skills during the bye week before the Jags (4-2) return to action on Nov. 1 against the Indianapolis Colts (2-4).
