After Sunday's roster cuts around the NFL, teams are relatively solidified heading into the 2026 season.

Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice revealed the oldest and youngest teams in the NFL by average age. Unsurprisingly, the Pittsburgh Steelers topped the list of oldest teams, with veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers set to turn 43 in December. The list of the oldest teams in the NFL is as follows:

Conversely, the Miami Dolphins top the list of youngest teams in the NFL with an average age of 25.0.

The Atlanta Falcons weren't too far behind the Steelers, as 41-year-old veteran kicker Nick Folk pushed up their average age. Still, Pittsburgh is known for its veteran-laden roster.

In addition to having Rodgers leading the offense in what could be his final year in the NFL, longtime Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward is back for his 16th season with the franchise after turning 37 in May.

The Green Bay Packers had been the youngest team in the NFL for each of the previous three years. They've since dropped to sixth following the offseason addition of backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who turned 37 earlier this month.

Kempski noted that the distinction this year is that "there are a lot of teams bunched up in the middle, with 10 teams that have average ages in between 26.4 and 26.5."

Typically, experience beats youth in the NFL, so the oldest teams should be among the favorites to compete in the Super Bowl this year. The defending champion Seattle Seahawks have an average age of 26.7, putting them near the oldest teams in the league.

Still, it will be fun to see if any team can buck the trend this year and emerge as a surprising title contender.
