2027 NFL Draft: 5 Prospects to watch in Ole Miss vs. Louisville

College football is back in our lives. Whether you are a fan of it or not, the Browns and their front office are going to be paying very close attention to a lot of players in the upcoming class. The 2027 NFL Draft is working up to be one of the better classes in recent memory.

One way to stay as caught up as the Browns will be is to follow our prospect previews starting now. We'll focus heavily on prospects who fit the team's projected needs in the 2027 NFL Draft. We are going to be looking at five players from the Ole Miss -Louisville matchup.

The game may not be very close, but the talent within the game is going to be interesting to see unfold in 2026, starting in Week 1. Here are the five players we are looking at from the game.

One of my favorite quarterbacks coming out of the summer was Trinidad Chambliss. Is he undersized? Yes. Is he a bit of a manic type out of the backfield? Also yes, but that is why I love him. He refuses to say die in the best ways possible, where he extends plays when pressured, and it allows him to find his receivers when the defense is forced to extend coverage. Louisville has a great defense; it will be a good test for him, and it is another national spotlight for him to shine under.

I had a first-round grade on Clev Lubin coming out of the summer. The motor is high, the hands are strong, and it allows him to knock around these NFL-sized offensive tackles in the ACC. Against Ole Miss, he will go against a tough offensive line, and the quarterback we just highlighted can extend plays. Lubin has the ability to contain Chambliss, and if he can, it will be a game-altering effort from him.

Suntarine Perkins is a unique study and hard to project in terms of his role in the NFL. He could be an edge but is a bit undersized, or he could be a linebacker but struggles with his movement ability at times. Despite that, he is still very much a problem in college football for now. Against a new Louisville quarterback, Perkins could prove to be someone who shifts the game one way or another.

Tre Richardson is an explosive receiver who has worked his way up from JUCO to the ACC now, and he deserves to have some shine. He is a receiver who can take the lid off a defense and score anytime he touches the ball. Look for Louisville to take advantage of the Rebels' cornerbacks and try to beat them with their speed, with Richardson leading the way.

My RB2 coming out of summer scouting is the dynamic Kewan Lacy. He is patient at the line of scrimmage, showcases explosiveness when hitting the second level, and he can handle a larger workload. Against Louisville and their talented defensive front, it will be a tough first test of the season, but it is one he should pass. Look for Lacy to flash some pass blocking as well to help out his quarterback against the dominant edge-rushing duo of the Cardinals.
