While Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 NFL season as he recovers from blood clots, the quarterback reportedly provided a "morale boost" for the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday by visiting the team facility.

ESPN's Tim McManus reported Hurts returned to the facility, which was "the first time some players had seen him since he was put on injured reserve."

The quarterback didn't address the team, but McManus reported "his presence did provide a morale boost for some."

Hurts was initially diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in London ahead of Philadelphia's Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He played in the game and flew home, although an ultrasound later discovered the blood clot moved.

The Eagles and Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, released a joint statement saying the official diagnosis was "deep vein thrombosis, as well as bilateral pulmonary emboli."

Most notably, the update said he was "clinically stable."

Its Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders extended its losing streak to six and dropped it to 2-6 overall. At this point, it seems like the NFC East team is playing out the string on what is shaping up to be a lost season.

Still, the Eagles do have an opportunity to make up some ground on the division-leading New York Giants on Sunday.

New York is the only team above .500 in the NFC East with a 4-2-1 record.

Tanner McKee has filled in for Hurts with the starter sidelined, but McManus noted Joe Milton is expected to start against the Giants. Milton saw limited playing time as a backup for the Dallas Cowboys last season and appeared in just one game during the 2024 campaign for the New England Patriots.
