'This S--t Checkdown City,' Bills Defender Shades Browns Amid Shedeur Sanders-Watson QB Competition

At least one Buffalo Bills defender has apparently been unimpressed by the Cleveland Browns offense during joint practices this week in Ohio.

ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi reported he heard one Bills player refer to the Browns' offense as "checkdown city."

NFL insider Tom Withers reported that Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was one player who had a message for Shedeur Sanders:

Both Sanders and Deshaun Watson, who are competing to start for the Browns in Week 1, got chances to throw against the Bills during Thursday's 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 sessions.

Sanders and Watson each saw mixed results when playing in the Browns' preseason opener last week against the Chicago Bears.

Watson relied mostly on short throws and made no completed passes over 10 air yards against the Bears, while Sanders gave up an interception on a fourth-quarter overthrow.

Both quarterbacks will look to improve on those issues during joint practices before Sanders starts and Watson plays in relief in Saturday's preseason matchup against the Bills.
