Updated 2027 NFL Draft Order After Week 3 Results, Who Could Bucs & Chargers Take?

Three of the five 0-3 teams in the NFL were not expected to struggle this much going into the regular season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in possession of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL draft order after Sunday afternoon's games.

The Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins are in that order behind the Texans.

Houston, Tampa Bay and Los Angeles were projected to be closer to the tops of their respective divisions, instead of in the early discussion for the No. 1 overall pick.

Quarterbacks have been the talk of the 2027 draft class, but if these teams remain at the top of the draft order, players like Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and Texas edge-rusher Colin Simmons could be in play for the top pick.

8. New York Jets (via Indianapolis -1-2)

15. Cleveland (via Los Angeles Rams - 1-2)

Jeremiah Smith has a strong case to make as the No. 1 overall pick one month into the college football regular season.

The Ohio State wide receiver already has 617 yards and seven touchdowns on 33 receptions through four games.

Smith set career highs across the board on Saturday with 12 receptions, 217 yards and four touchdowns.

All of the teams currently in the top five of the projected draft order could use a playmaker like Smith in their offense.

Houston has been almost too reliant on Nico Collins and needs a complement, or a new No. 1, to add to C.J. Stroud's offense.

The Chargers could use a standout No. 1 wide out to go with Justin Herbert. That would make the offense far more dangerous with Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston in supporting roles.

Tampa Bay could use Smith as well, even with Emeka Egbuka and a young core already in place.

The Titans and Dolphins need help everywhere across the field, so they would love if Smith land with them, if they aren't in the quarterback market.

It's hard to imagine that, regardless of team, Smith falls outside of the top five because he has franchise-changing talent.

Colin Simmons made his case to be the top defensive player in the 2027 NFL draft with his performance on Saturday.

The Texas edge-rusher had five sacks in the Longhorns' win over the Tennessee Volunteers.

Simmons has a sack in three of his four games so far this season. He also has a fumble recovery and a fumble forced.

Simmons would be an ideal fit for most defenses. He could be a top-five pick because of how much of an impact he can make on any team, whether it be a contender, or a rebuilding team.

Simmons will have plenty of other chances to impress since the Longhorns have multiple Top 25 matchups left on their SEC schedule.
