A.J. Brown showed love to his former quarterback after Jalen Hurts was diagnosed with blood clots.

The New England Patriots wide receiver said the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback "can handle anything" after the season-ending diagnosis.

"It's a tough situation, man. Got a lot of love and respect for him," Brown said. "Praying for him. Didn't know how serious it was, and I think all of us kind of found that out. But he's a tough guy. He can handle anything, and I don't mean that lightly."

Hurts was initially added to the Eagles' injury report on Friday with what was at the time called a calf injury , but he ended up playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday.

Before the game, an ultrasound revealed a blood clot in Hurts' calf, and a follow-up ultrasound showed that the blood clot had moved, which forced him to miss Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

He was placed on the injured reserve on Saturday, and on Monday, the Eagles announced that Hurts would miss the remainder of the season after doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs.

It's certainly a scary situation, but the Eagles said Hurts' prognosis is "very good, and we expect a full recovery."

Brown, who joined the Eagles ahead of the 2022 season, spent four years catching passes from Hurts and had the best years of his career while playing alongside the star quarterback. The two won a Super Bowl together in 2024.

The Eagles traded Brown to the Patriots this offseason, ending their outstanding run together.

While Brown and Hurts' relationship was seen as rocky for much of their final season together, Brown clearly still has love for his former quarterback and looks forward to seeing him back on the field next season.

Philadelphia has had a rocky 2-4 start to the season, and with Hurts out for the year, it's fair to assume the Eagles might be shifting their focus to the 2027 campaign soon.
