Mike McCarthy never made it to the locker room at halftime.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy wasn't able to address his team as usual at halftime on Sunday in their overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .

On his way to his halftime interview at Raymond James Stadium, McCarthy apparently injured his ankle.

Broadcast cameras did not appear to catch the injury on video. Instead, McCarthy was shown having trouble as he tried to walk off the field at halftime. He eventually decided to head straight into the blue medical tent on the sideline, where he remained for all of halftime. He never made it back to the locker room to address the Steelers, and re-joined the team at the start of the third quarter.

Despite the injury, McCarthy continued coaching the team in the second half normally. His ankle injury appeared to be minor after all.

And, despite falling into a 13-point hole in the fourth quarter, Aaron Rodgers led the Steelers storming back to force overtime . He eventually found Germie Bernard for a 6-yard touchdown pass in the extra period, too. The score was the first of Bernard's career, and lifted the Steelers to a second straight win.

Rodgers went 33-of-49 passing for 253 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the win, which moved the Steelers to 4-2 on the season. They are in a great spot in the AFC North race, but the win in Tampa was much more complicated than it needed to be. Rodgers could have sealed the win in regulation, but couldn't find the end zone from the 3-yard line after Buccaneers quarterback Jalon Daniels threw his second interception of the fourth quarter.

But a win is a win, and McCarthy's halftime injury didn't appear to hinder him much in the end. He and the Steelers can head home happy.
